ST. PETER'S C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL NEW STARTERS 2020/21
WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED A PLACE AT OUR SCHOOL, FROM SEPTEMBER 2020. WE LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING TO KNOW YOU AND CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO JOIN OUR SCHOOL.
Starting school is a milestone, not only for your child but also for parents/carers. You may be excited, or perhaps a little concerned about your child taking these first steps towards independence at school. At St. Peter's, we aim to build a good relationship between home and school, so that everybody involved can ensure your child gets the very best induction that is happy, settled and positive.
We are excited about teaching your child and we look forward to meeting you soon.
Stay safe and well.
Have a lovely summer!
Please keep watching the space below, as new information will be added for the transition to school.
Countdown to school!!! Countdown to school!!! Countdown to school!!!
Not long until school starts! Download our letter and 'sleeps' chart to count down to starting school.
See you soon!
From all your teachers
EYFS Medium term plan...What do you wonder about?
During the first half term, we will be joining in with the whole school topic called 'Discovery'. Our theme will be called 'I Wonder...' and will start with the question - What do you wonder about? We will be talking about ourselves, our family and where we live and will explore the outside area. Below is our medium term plan, which shows what we will be covering in each area, as well as a knowledge organiser which has questions, possible activities you might like to do with your child before and during the autumn term and key language and vocabulary we will be using in our topic. Please have a look and start prompting and questioning your child about what they wonder about!!
Download the welcome booklet and discover your new school and classroom!
EYFS TRANSITION QUESTIONNARIRE
PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO FILL IN THE SHORT QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT THE TRANSITION PROCESS. WE VALUE THE THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS OF OUR PARENTS!
Please send back via Tapestry, email@example.com or in person in September. Thank you.

STARTING SCHOOL CHECKLIST
Are you getting ready for school? Have you got your school uniform?
Here is a checklist for you and your child to tick off!
Getting your child involved, will help them become organised, independent and excited about starting school!
Please make sure that ALL clothing and belongings are labelled, otherwise it is hard for us to return it to the rightful owner! It is surprising how much lost property we get!
EYFS TRANSITION PROJECT
In Early Years would like to know as much about your child as possible before they start school., so we can build up a picture of the whole child. We are then able to plan activities that support and encourage independence, curiosity and enjoyment, as well as meeting the needs of all children.
By taking part in our TRANSITION project, it means you will get some quality time talking to your child about their interests, likes and dislikes. When you have completed the project, please drop it in to school or upload it to Tapestry. Have fun!
Alongside this, we would like to know how you and your child have felt during Lockdown. If you would like to complete the short questionnaire, which has been produced by Essex Local Authority, drop this into school too.
Many thanks. EYFS Team.
IS YOUR CHILD SCHOOL READY?
