Tuesday 5th January- switch to remote learning
31 December 2020 (by admin)
Dear Parents and carers,
I am sorry to have to tell you that following yesterday's announcement we are required to switch to remote learning from Tuesday 5th January. (Monday 4th is a staff training day). The Braintree district currently has a high number of cases and as a school within the Braintree district, we have to follow the government guidance.
We will be open for keyworker children and vulnerable children only, until informed otherwise. The national situation will be reviewed on the 18th January. This includes the Pre-school which will also be open only for keyworker and vulnerable children.
As you are aware from my previous email, we have had a number of positive Covid cases, both staff and children during the Christmas holidays. To protect our staff and the whole community, I would ask that you only send your child to school if absolutely essential. School will be open from 9 am until 3.15 pm with a rota of staff in place. We will not be able to offer Breakfast and After school Club at this time, and all after school clubs will be cancelled.
Please email me at
firstname.lastname@example.org if your child will be attending school next week as a keyworker's child or as a vulnerable child.
During the first lockdown we were able to offer high quality home learning and I am confident that this will continue using Tapestry (Reception) Seesaw, Microsoft Teams and work posted on the school website. The home learning will be available to start on Tuesday 5th January.
I am really sorry to have to start the term in this way.
Thank you for your continued support.
