ST PETER'S C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL & PRE-SCHOOL

Volunteering

At St Peter's we are always looking for parents to help out within the school - whether it is a one-off school trip or for a regular activity, we appreciate the support we receive from parents. Below are a few ways in which you might be able to help.

Parent readers

We recently purchased a new phonics scheme for KS1 and as a result, we will be changing the approach to hearing children read. We will be running small group sessions and can provide training for parents who would like to help out with these sessions. All you need to do is be able to offer 45-60 minutes of your time a week. If you would like to volunteer your time, please speak to one of the KS1 teachers or get in touch with the school office.

School clubs

There is a range of lunchtime and after-school clubs available at St Peter's covering different activities such as sewing, football and recorder. We only have so much time available within our staff so any additional clubs provided by parents offer even more children the opportunity to take part in fun activities. We would love to increase the clubs on offer and have recently (autumnn 2022) started a new parent-run lego club, which has been incredibly popular! Whether you want to run this yourself or can be part of a rota for a club, then please do get in touch with us. We can support you with the organisation of the club.

If you want to get involved in a new club but aren't sure what that could be, here are some suggestions:

  • Arts & craft
  • Dance
  • Environment
  • Gardening
